Silica Sand Processing Equipment
Silica sand processing equipment mainly consist of vibrating feeder, jaw crusher, vertical shaft impact crusher, cone crusher or impact crusher, hammer crusher, vibrating screen, sand and gravel material cleaning equipment, sand washing machine. According to the different hardness and size of the stone in silica sand production line , the operators should select suitable sand making equipment and sand washing machine in order to ensure the smooth and stability of the silica sand production line operations.
Silica sand production process
Crushing and grinding is widely used in the silica industry to produce ground silica for the textile fiberglass industry. For the textile fiberglass industry, consistency of chemical components along with size distribution is as important as with other glass products. Typical crushing and grinding machine such as jaw crusher, impact crusher, cone crusher, ball mill, super thin grinding mill, silica sand powder making machine and so on are widely used in silica sand processing equipment in sand and gravel processing.
Washing is the simplest and lowest cost method of cleaning silica sand. In some of the very pure deposits that are void of heavy minerals, high amounts of clay and silt, and no surface staining, washing is sufficient to produce acceptable grade product. In the process, water is added to the sand and is generally pumped to a cyclone for desliming.
The movement of the slurry passing through the pump and pipeline is sufficient to loosen the small amount of fines or clay that are in the ore body. Once the minor amounts of fines or clay have been released from the silica sand they can be removed via a variety of methods. The sand washing machine designed and manufactured by our company, Shanghai SBM Mining and Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. , is widely used in the quartz sand production line.
Screening. High frequency screens supplied by SBM Company are generally used to make the 0.5mm separation. The latest developments are high capacity screens that can size 250 tph with one screen. The high capacity screens employ several screen decks within one machine unit. The system employees a feed distribution system that evenly feeds all screen decks simultaneously.
Gravity separation for glass sands are limited to spirals since other gravity separation processes, such as enhanced gravity separators that are too expensive to operate or processes such as shaking tables that are too low capacity for glass sands, are not cost effective.
